A variety of data storage devices are known. These include various mass and semiconductor memories, as well as the more familiar magnetic and optical media such as magnetic tape and disk drives. Mass and semiconductor memories typically have a short life span, as contrasted with magnetic media which have a much longer life span. Because of this difference in life span, the loss of data stored in a magnetic medium often does not significantly impact the user. On the other hand, the loss of data in a semiconductor memory will impact a user more significantly, as will be appreciated by one of ordinary skill in the art.
There are two common failures in semiconductor memories. First, a single bit or a small number of bits in the memory can become faulty. This may be due to a number of different reasons, including, for example, physical damage to the memory cells. Second, the memory or its address decoder will fail.
Prior to the present invention, semiconductor memories were built as one-for-one replacements. That is, a memory chip was used in an array having a first address to a first memory cell, a second address to a second memory cell, etc. For example, the memory chip in a first array was used at address 1, and the memory chip in a second array was used at address 2. This approach may result in redundant memory being stored in an array where it is not needed, increasing the cost of the memory, as well as occupying additional space. In particular, redundant memory can cause power and signal routing difficulties, both of which are undesirable.

New Class Attributes (“Class”):
Classes enable you to define properties (attributes) that are common to many objects in your drawing. To create a class, open a drawing, and then select Tools – Class Attributes. You can then define the Class attributes in the Class Attributes dialog box. You can also set default values for attributes in your Classes.

You can also use some of the Class Attributes as filter criteria in the Class Manager (View – Class Manager) to manage your Classes more efficiently.
The “Class” object class now supports the creation of snap points on a class.
You can now merge multiple Classes, creating a single object that inherits the attributes of several previous objects.
You can also perform the opposite action – you can copy multiple objects from one class to another class. This is helpful for when you are working on one Class and want to quickly use an object from another class.
You can now make multiple changes in one drawing without modifying the class before re-saving the drawing.
New Sketch Types (Lines, Freehand, and Rectangles):
You can now use three new Sketch Types. These include Lines, which allow you to use a line as an entity, but do not create an arrow; Freehand, which can be used to sketch freehand arcs, freehand polylines, and lines in a sketch; and Rectangles, which allow you to create rectangular entities.
To use the new sketch types, open a drawing and then select Tools – Preferences (OPT+P). Set the sketch type you want to use and then save the drawing. You can also set the sketch type for a drawing template.
